Creativity

Did you know that children who participate in art classes are twice as likely to go on to college.

What happens when children engage in right brain, creative activity is they become more curious, open to learning and absorb information much easier than those who are not exposed to creative thinking on a regular basis.

It one of the reasons children are drawn to coloring books and drawing is they automatically know it is a great exercise for their capacity to learn.

But our schools have taken away the arts and specifically drawing, painting and illustration courses. It is very difficult for students to find outlets for their art talent.

I would love to have boys and girls clubs accessible for all communities. I would love to see children of all ages have art as an every day occurrence. I don’t think art history is important until the students are inspired by art enough to want to pursue it but being exposed to illustrations, water colors, acrylics, oils, silk painting, clay sculpture, metal sculpture and every medium available.

For each student we inspire to take up the arts, we have a 50% chance of having them go on to college and a better lifestyle than they could have without the college education.

What can you do to be a part of the arts education?
